Khalid
is a Muslim teenage who has interest in playing football and other games with
his cousin. Khalid find himself having a crush on a girl at school, but he
could not do anything about that. Khalid family planned to visit their home
town during the school holidays which is Pakistan. Khalid did not know anything

his father disappeared and he decided to go and look for him. This search was
the one that put his life in danger as he was abducted/ kidnapped and he was
taken to the CIA officials for in connection with terrorist bombing. During his
abduction he was tortured and abused. He spent two years in the prison without
any charge.
Guantanamo Bay
The
games he uses to play with the cousin is the one that put him into big trouble
as he was taken as a terrorist who is planning of bombing something. This shows
that there is contradiction because what was his interest is the one that made
him to end up in those cells. To him this was something terrifying because he
did not know of any bombing activity as prescribed by his abductors. This was a
long journey of life to him as he has to face all this demon by himself but
finally he was released but by that time he was about 17-year-old young man. This
means that when he comes back home he has a different mentality and how see
things is total different to the rest of the family.
The
book is representation of real life story of a children who was detained and
tortured as well as being abused for something that he did not do. What
happened to Khalid could happen to any Muslim child, so this book serves to
open eyes for the future generations.
